Les regrets du chasseur
Mohori theatre - Lakhaon Mohori
Company Khmer Amatak
Monday 6 october, 6.30pm
This piece recounts the remorse of a hunter who has killed two birds with a single arrow. He realizes that these animals have a heart, like humans: the female spouse of the bird kills herself when she realizes her mate it dead.
An ancient art of folk dance and drama, Mohori theater began at the Royal Palace in the middle of the 13th century, following the birth of the music of the same name. Mohori uses simple gestures and texts that are closely related to Khmer folk dances. The play is always accompanied by a Mohori orchestra.
